My Life After Facebook

I got kicked off of META on May 31, 2026. They said I was hacked, temporarily suspended me and then permanently banned me, all within two minutes, while I was driving in my car. It has been five months, and I have never been able to recover my personal or business accounts on META. I tried…and failed miserably.

Mark Zuckerberg – You SUCK!

If this has happened to you and you’ve been able to successfully recover your accounts, you are one of the lucky ones. For the rest of us, we’ve had to figure out life without social media. And let me tell you, it’s been an adjustment, because there is currently no replacement for Facebook or Instagram.

After months of trying to get back on META and realizing it isn’t going to happen, I decided to start a blog, where I’ll have complete control of my content and won’t have to worry about being shut down on the whim of a trillion-dollar company.

I had been on Facebook for 18 years. I had a five-star Marketplace rating spanning years. In addition to my personal Facebook account, I had a photography business page, had run a prior rental business through FB and had just started a new custom bundle gift business that was gaining traction. All of it lost, with no way to get it back. Trust me, I tried.

People said I could just start a new page…I guess I could, under a different name, but why would I? META cannot be trusted to do the right thing, so why in the world would I start all over on a platform that doesn’t care about its users? Nope! If I had recovered my accounts, I would have remained, but I will not spend another 18 years trying to rebuild a social media account. Especially when I can have complete control on my blog?

So, to my old and new friends, I welcome you to my new home.
